Highlights Of Oman Trip

Upon arrival you will be met and assisted by our Luxor and Aswan Travel representative at Muscat International Airport. You will be transfered to your hotel in Muscat.

Breakfast at hotel. Afterwards, head to see the Sultan's Palace. The next stop is the Bait Al Zubair Museum. From here you will drive to the Corniche. The Corniche is near the main Mina Al Sultan Qaboos port of Oman and the Muttrah souk. At night, all the ships in the harbor are also illuminated, you will drive to the Grand Mosque for a photo stop. And then drive back to the hotel.

The first stop is the Grand Mosque, a most beautiful architectural piece of work. Proceed to visit Rustaq. Rustaq fort is famous for its hot water springs. Then head to visit Al Hazm Fort in Rustaq. The fort is known far and wide for its beautiful gates which are adorned with verses from the Holy Koran and flower etchings. A picnic lunch box / lunch at local restaurant en route. The next stop is Nakhl which also has the highest fort in Oman. Proceed to the Al Thowara Oasis where one can witness the source of the natural springs. Drive back to the hotel.

Breakfast and check out. Depart from Muscat and head to Nizwa region. You will have a short stop to visit Amouage Factory, the Nizwa market and Nizwa Fort. Spend some time in this traditional city and visit the interesting fort with the round tower and the museum and stroll thru the Souq. Halt the Bahla fort (photo stop), the oldest and first Omani fort to be built in the Islamic style.
A picnic lunch box / lunch at local restaurant en route. We proceed on to the Jabrin castle, which became a seat for Omani education and learning. The tomb of Imam Bil'arab remains within the fort. Overnight at your hotel in Nizwa.

Breakfast at hotel. Then drive to Wadi Bani Khalid, where the pools has clear deep cool waters and the shade of the palm trees are inviting for a relaxing siesta! Catch a glimpse of the pretty villages scattered all over Wadi Bani Khalid. (Please bring along your swim- wear, the clear waters of the Wadi are very inviting!)

Picnic lunch will be served. Later on, drive to Al Wasil Petrol Station. A 4x4 will pick you up and drive to undulating golden sands of Wahiba. These apparently lifeless sands have sustained the Bedu tribes for over 5000 years. In the middle of the desert stop to visit a Bedouin home. Enjoy bashing and the dramatic sights of the sunset while based on a high dune (Camel ride optional). Enjoy a traditional Arabic meal, Omani coffee and dates.Overnight at hotel.

After Breakfast, Start your journey back to Muscat. In Sur visit the fishermen's harbor and witness the fishermen in action. Proceed on to the Dhow building yard. Dhows are traditional Omani wooden fisher boats that are even today, built by hand. Continue via Qalhat where Bibi Miriam’s tomb (photo stop).
Drive to Wadi Tiwi. Proceed to the white beaches of Finns and picnic lunch will be served. Also see the Bimah Sinkhole, a natural hole in the round created by a collapsing mountain. The hole is filled with blue-green sea water. Finally we pass through the village of Quriyat, guarded by its 18th century fort and return to Muscat.

Departure Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Drop off at Muscat International Airport for departure.
